Premium companion plugin

Google Maps Locations.

A theme-agnostic location manager for one or many physical locations, with secure WordPress editing and native, headless, map, and list presentation paths.

Capabilities

Maintain location data once and present it where customers need it.

Private records

Keep locations out of public post archives

Locations are native private WordPress records, providing familiar editing and ordering without exposing a public single-location post type.

Secure editor data

Capture complete operational details

Protected editor fields cover structured addresses, coordinates, contact details, opening hours, ordering, visibility, descriptions, and marker overrides.

REST delivery

Serve native or headless frontends

The read-only funkycommerce/v1/locations route returns normalized public location data and presentation settings for connected storefronts.

Optional WPGraphQL

Query locations through an existing schema

When WPGraphQL is active, the plugin registers a typed funkycommerceLocations field. The plugin continues to work without WPGraphQL.

Shortcodes

Publish searchable maps or grouped cards

Use [funkycommerce_map] for a searchable map and [funkycommerce_locations] for grouped, collapsible cards. Legacy [gml_map] and [sorted_locations] remain supported.

Nearby discovery

Help visitors narrow the list

Text search, browser geolocation, radius filtering, marker focus, and synchronized list behavior support nearby discovery, with a list-only presentation when a map is unavailable.

Legacy import

Move forward without destructive cleanup

On first activation, records and settings from the old gml_locations table are copied into the native model without deleting the legacy table or options.

API key responsibility

Restrict browser credentials at Google

The Google Maps browser key is intentionally sent to the storefront. The site owner must restrict it to approved HTTP referrers and manage Google Cloud access and charges.

Requirements, licence, and value

A clear setup path for one licensed site.

Requirements

WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+

A Google Maps browser API key is required for map display. WPGraphQL is optional, and list output remains available without the map service.

Licensing

One-site annual entitlement

The subscription covers one WordPress website and includes signed updates, compatibility releases, documentation, and commercial support while active.

Bundle value

Part of the Plugins Bundle

Included with the other four premium plugins in the €199/year Plugins Bundle for one site.
